Stockwood Concert Band meet every Tuesday evening between 8:15pm and 9:30pm at the Scout headquarters, Harrington Road, Stockwood. The Band currently has 12 members who play a mixture of brass, wind and percussion instruments. This is often supplemented by members of other bands who assist at some engagements. Members enjoy playing a wide repertoire of music including military marches and modern popular pieces. The band performs concerts at various local venues throughout the year including elderly peoples’ homes. We occasionally provide the music for outdoor services such as carols prior to Christmas organised by the local churches. The band is of course looking forward to playing once again for the spring concert at Christ the Servant Church in Stockwood this year on 13th May. This has become a regular and favourite event for us all. We are always keen to welcome new members of all ages and we have a small number of instruments available for loan to anyone who wishes to rekindle a lost interest.
